The new project at Hamad Port involves designing and constructing food security facilities and warehouses at a cost of QAR 1.6 billion.The project consists of specialized facilities for processing, manufacturing and refining rice, raw sugar and edible oils. These products will be available for local, regional and global use. The project also includes bulk storage silos with the associated infrastructure and conveyance equipment, in addition to fundamental structures equipped for the associated operations of handling, processing, packaging, reloading and transport.
The scope of work entails mixed use low rise development. It entails construction of 37 buildings comprising of a retail outlets, restaurants, food & beverage, coffee shops, cinema, spas, and boutique hotels, fish market hall, leisure & edutainment, administrative offices for Doha Port, kids area, and a mosque . The total plot area is 79,256 sq. m
